Sometimes script execution just stops, Stop button is still present on the screen, but does nothing. No exceptions was raised. This happens occasionally, same script can work many hours or stop after a while. Problem definitely not in script. In order to restart it I need stop the Service, kill AnkuLua app, restart app and then the service.
Is there any way to avoid this, or detect somehow, or get any info about hanging cause?

What's your device? Do you use root or daemon? It's possibly caused by Android memory management. Try removing all other running Apps.

I use Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, Android 5.1, no root, no modifications of any kind, device has 3GB RAM, and there is no any other applications running besides the game (which works fine on phone with 1GB RAM), AnkuLua, Skype and system processes.

When the script stop for a while, how long have the service been started? Try restart service (stop then start) before running any script. Thanks. Please update the status.

You said the "Stop button is still present on the screen". I assume that it's not "Play button". In that case, check if there is infinite loop in your script.

Just got this again, there is 1.5 GB RAM free. When the script stop for a while, how long have the service been started? If you ask how long the service is running without any script active, so the script is active most of the time. I really sometimes stop the script manually, then restart it without restarting the service. As I understand, I should restart the service before start a script every time, I'll try this. Script works in simple while loop, there is no recursion, or any other such mistakes, or any unintended way to escape the loop. It works as intended all the time, this hangs are totally random, nothing changes in conditions. When it stops at random point, there is Stop button on screen, no exception messages, pressing Stop button has no effect (when normally it's terminating the script and becomes Play button).

Just found a situation that may hang the service in Daemon mode. Will fix it in next release. Stay tuned. BTW, there is no problem in root mode.

i'm having the same situation, any update on this matter? Will check it. Report here once the situation happened and solution found. It's very hard to reproduce it. Would you please provide more information? What device? Which Android version? Is there any way to trigger it?

i'm having the same situation, any update on this matter? In my case problem disappeared after i reworked my script, can't tell what exactly did the trick. In first i didn't know about wait() function and used self made pause function, based on os.clock, i think, in my case it was the cause.

the problem happened a few times, but after i revamped my code, the problem did not happen anymore. the error had to be within my code and not on the APP. Sorry

Even though the error was in your code, it might still be the app. Maybe a specific function under special circumstances triggers the freeze?
I am experiencing the same problem.. Most of the times, the code works, others, it don't

after 3 years of the original post. I faced the same issues as mentioned by zpt, in my case, it searching for button to click. the button did show up, but the program just wont click on it. not sure what happened, it is rarely to see it like that. is there a function out there for click to make sure it click down enough (or click longer) rather than just normal click? As zpt, mentioned that re-work the code helps, i will see where i can fix it.
I used the latest ankulua version, LDplayer v 4.0.30 based on Android 7.1 and no root running.
Have configured enough memory to the emulator - 8GB RAM and 4 core

What's the similarity? How about snap and play script? Does the snap and play script work? Does re-taking the pictures to compare help? Sometimes, the button with only text and the game developer change the text size or font. That will cause problem. You can share the screenshot and the images with problem. Will try to help.
