hi, not sure if anyone mentioned, did someone come up with a good method to view and close video ads for android? obviously dumb way of looking for 'X' to close is problematic with the variations of ads.
thank you -cute_polarbear

Try keyevent(4) if you're sure in the ads.

Try keyevent(4) if you're sure in the ads. beautiful. i think backspace in combination of checking for 'X' and other defensive type checks will cover almost all of my cases with testing. much appreciate it.

oops. I celebrated too quickly. there are some very toxic ads where they force you to click 'x' on screen, backspace provides endless loop of the cancel (lose reward) / continue dialogue box.

How about just choose continue until the ad accepts backspace?

usually with most google ads in games, you can use the back method loop could go: press back check for your "home", or "resume video" if resume if then pause for a few seconds, like 5-10, then try back again, rinse repeat until your home image appears(or however your going to detect your on the screen you want) theres usually 1-10 different x's give or take.) that way your not spamming back. i would use math.random(5-10) for your wait number, makes it less "botty". if you need some help post source here, if its not public pm me i can help set it up.

Thank you both for this. I initially started with checking for 'X', checking for various combinations but ads still break that pattern time to time / occasional false positive matches. I then opted for backspace approach suggested here. (and I spaced out backspace timing with home screen (out of ad) detection).
It's cleaner approach but as mentioned, i literally encountered some infinite loop ad of backspace + continue. It will not get out until I click 'X'.
I will do more testing and see. Maybe resort to suck it up and detect all variations of 'X' and subsequent (potential) actions.
thank you guys for input.

Just for sake of it, this is just one example of the super toxic ad I came across. top background is video essentially that pans and switches quickly. resume video button is never ending. (i waited for one of the ads, i guess it does end. this one lasted for 2 minutes.)
thanks, -cute_polarbear
